Case Mod How-To for the Alix Single Board Computer

Okay, grab your shop vacuum and thoroughly clean up all of the little bits of aluminum in and around the Alix case. I’m not an electrical engineer but I’m pretty sure it would be a bad to have any bits left behind to stick to the board.

Before you mount the Alix board back in the case, grab some scotch tape and use it to make a “pull tab” for your compact flash card (Fig. 31-32). The pull tab will allow you to easily pull the card out of the board when it’s mounted inside the case.

After making the pull tab, put the Alix board back in the case, then screw the case lid back on. Finally, slide the compact flash card into the slot and behold your finished mod (Fig. 33-34).

Nice how-to! I just bought an Alix and was getting sick and tired of swapping the CF card to try different firmwares.
