When I want to buy computer equipment, my first stop is usually ncix.com, which has brick and morter stores in my city. Unfortunately, they weren’t carrying any Samsung netbooks when I went shopping. My next choice was Costco, but they only had offerings from HP and Acer.
After checking a few websites, I soon realized that the only local stores that were selling the Samsung NC10 netbook were Future Shop and Best Buy. The problem was, both stores were sold out. Undaunted, I patiently waited a couple of weeks until Best Buy got in another shipment. The week I bought mine, it was on sale for CAD$349. At that price, they were flying off the shelves and I was lucky to get one (the last one in the store, in fact). Genius that I am, I managed to get Best Buy to price match Future Shop’s price of CAD$329, even though none of the local Future Shop locations had any NC10 stock.
Interestingly, since I bought my NC10, prices seem to have gone up. On October 21, 2009, for example, Future Shop and Best Buy were advertising prices of CAD$349 and CAD$379 respectively.
Anyway, let’s see what my $329 bought me.
